PLASTIC TOILET COMPARTMENTS

PART 1  GENERAL

1.1  SECTION INCLUDES

1.2 RELATED REQUIREMENTS
     A. Section 05 50 00 - Metal Fabrications: Concealed steel support members.
     B. Section 06 10 00 - Rough Carpentry: Blocking and supports.
     C. Section 10 28 00 - Toilet, Bath, and Laundry Accessories.
1.3 REFERENCE STANDARDS
     A. ASTM A666 - Standard Specification for Annealed or Cold-Worked Austenitic Stainless Steel Sheet,
         Strip, Plate, and Flat Bar.
     B. ASTM B221 - Standard Specification for Aluminum and Aluminum Alloy Extruded Bars, Rods, Wire,
         Profiles and Tubes.
1.4 ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS
     A. Coordination: Coordinate the work with placement of support framing and anchors in walls and ceilings.
1.5 SUBMITTALS
     A. See Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements, for submittal procedures.
     B. Shop Drawings: Indicate partition plan, elevation views, dimensions, details of wall supports, door swings.
     C. Product Data: Provide data on panel construction, hardware, and accessories.
     D. Samples: Submit two samples of partition panels, 2x2 inch in size illustrating panel finish, color, and sheen.
     E. Manufacturer's Installation Instructions: Indicate special procedures.
     F. Sustainable Design Submittals:
         1. Recycled Content: Certify percentages of post-consumer recycled content.
         2. Regional Materials: Certify distance between project and manufacturer.
1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE
     A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Manufacturer is regularly engaged in the manufacturer of products specified
          in this section and whose products have been in satisfactory use under similar service conditions for not
          less than fifteen years.
     B. Installer Qualifications: Installer is regularly engaged in the installation of the products specified in this
          section with a minimum of five years experience.
     C. All plastic components are to be covered with a removable peel coat masking.
     D. Manufacturer guarantees plastic components against breakage, corrosion and delamination for a period of
          15 years.

PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.01 MANUFACTURERS
2.1 MANUFACTURERS

2.2 COMPONENTS
     A. Toilet Compartments: Factory fabricated doors, pilasters, and divider panels with 1/4" radius corners.
         1. Material: 100% Post-Consumer recycled high density polyethylene.
         2. Color: As selected by Architect - Product - Origins Color Number & Color Name.
         3. Style: Ceiling Hung.
         4. Privacy Screen: Choose: Wall Hung or Wall Hung Floor Attached.
     B. Door and Panel Dimensions:
         1. Thickness: 1 inch (25mm).
         2. Door Width: See drawings.
         3. Door Width for Handicapped: 36 inch, out-swinging.
         4. Door & Panel Height: 55 inch (1.397m).
         5. Thickness of Pilasters: 1 inch (25mm).
         6. Height of Ceiling: Up to 120 inch (3.048m).
         7. Door Type: Standard
2.3 ACCESSORIES
     A. Ceiling Sleeves to conceal fastening.
         1. Stainless Steel to be Formed ASTM A666, Type 304, 20 gauge with No.4 finish.
         2. Ceiling sleeves are 4 inches (102mm) high.
         3. Provide adjustment for leveling with ceiling bolts integral with pilaster.
         4. Attach pilasters to structural steel only (Unistrut is not sufficient).
     B. Pilaster Brackets: Continuous 68 inch (1.727m).
     C. Wall Brackets: Continuous 54 inch (1.372m).
     D. Attachments, Screws, and Bolts: Stainless steel, tamper proof type.
         1. For attaching panels and pilasters to brackets: 3/4 inch (19mm) screws or through-bolts and nuts;
              tamper proof.
         2. For attaching brackets to walls: Choose: 1-1/2 inch (38mm) or 2-1/2 inch (63mm); tamper proof type.
     E. Hardware: Choose: Aluminum or Satin Stainless Steel
         1. Choose (if Aluminum): 8" (203mm) Wrap-Around hinges or Integral Hinges, adjustable for door close
             positioning.
             Choose (if Stainless Steel): Continuous hinges, gravity type, adjustable for door close positioning.
         2. Door Latch: Slide type Choose (if Aluminum): with built-in emergency access feature.
              Choose (if Stainless Steel): with door slot exterior emergency access feature.
         3. Door strike and keeper: Choose (if Aluminum): 6 inch (152mm) with vinyl bumper; mounted on pilaster
             in alignment with door latch. Choose (if Stainless Steel): 2-1/2 inch (63mm) with vinyl bumper; mounted
             on pilaster in alignment with door latch.
         4. All doors with Choose: Zamak or Stainless Steel coat hook with rubber bumper; one per compartment,
             mounted on door.
         5. Outswing doors with Choose: Zamak or Stainless Steel wall stop with rubber bumper mounted on door.
         6. Provide Choose: Zamak or Stainless Steel door pull on both sides of outswing/accessible doors.
         7. Provide aluminum heat sink on the lower edge of all panels and doors.

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION

     A. Verify that field measurements are as indicated.
     B. Verify correct spacing of and between plumbing fixtures.
     C. Verify correct location of built-in framing, anchorage, and bracing.
3.2 INSTALLATION
     A. Install partitions secure, rigid, plumb, and level in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
     B. Maintain 3/8 to 1/2 inch (9.5 to 12mm) space between wall and panels and between wall and end pilasters.
     C. Attach panel brackets securely to walls using anchor devices.
     D. Attach panels and pilasters to brackets. Locate head rail joints at pilaster center lines.
3.3 TOLERANCES
     A. Maximum Variation From True Position: 1/4 inch (6mm).
     B. Maximum Variation From Plumb: 1/8 inch (3mm).
3.4 ADJUSTING
     A. Adjust and align hardware to uniform clearance at vertical edge of doors, not exceeding 3/16 inch (4mm).
     B. Adjust hinges to position doors in partial opening position when unlatched. Return out-swinging doors
         for accessible stalls to closed position.
