- Yemm & Hart Green
Partitions are 100% post-consumer recycled polyethylene
available in over 60 different colors & patterns.
Yemm & Hart can offer so many different
colors and patterns of the 1" thick Origins
panels because they are custom made for each
project. The process used that allows small
quantities of panels to be made is called
compression molding. This process allows
quantities of panels as low as 1 to be made.
The lower cost method of making 1" thick
panels is called extrusion and requires at
least 25 panels of one color to be made. For
projects not requiring this quantity, the
panels must come from inventory that was
produced in advance of the project. Thus,
firms offering low cost panels for small
projects have a faster delivery but fewer color choices.
- Restroom
Partitions made by Yemm & Hart are only for projects where the
end user is willing to pay a premium for special.
The Origins unique solid colors and patterns
and ability to manufacturer just the
quantity of panels required for a specific
project is more expensive than the more
common method of high speed, high volume
panel production. When the color or pattern
is important to the client, the cost/benefit
can be weighed.
- Obtain a price quote
from YH before letting the project out for bid to be sure your
client has the budget for YH partitions.
The best way to provide your client with
accurate information for their cost/benefit
analysis is to obtain a written quotation
from Yemm & Hart for the project in the
color or colors that are being considered.
Though obtaining a quotation normally takes
a few days, this usually can be arranged to
fit into the presentation process.

- For price
competitive partitions, please DO NOT include YH; instead choose
Scranton Products.
Most architectural and design firms are
aware of this company, formerly known as
Comtec. By absorbing the partition
manufacturers of Santana and Capitol
Partitions, Scranton Products, has become
the largest manufacturer of solid
polyethylene restroom partitions in the USA.
Thus, they are able to offer one of the
lowest prices in the industry by extruding
low cost 1" panels to inventory. If a
project is budget driven, it is more
efficient for your firm, the bidding
contractors and Yemm & Hart to NOT include
Yemm & Hart.
- When specifying
partitions by Yemm & Hart, specify the Origins color name & number
on the drawings and in the specification.
Once it has been determined that your client
wants and has the budget for special, more
expensive restroom partitions, it is
imperative that your drawings and
specifications contain the Origins color
identification number and name as they
appear on our samples and
website color charts. When this
information is not included in the contract
documents, the door is left open for
subversion of your specification and your
client not getting the restroom partitions
they are expecting.
- Be sure to include
YH contact information - Tel:
573-783-5434, Fax: 573-783-7544, Email:
yemmhart@hughes.net.
By including Yemm & Hart contact information
on the drawings and in the
specifications, it becomes an easy task for
the bidding contractor to obtain a price
quote for Yemm & Hart. It also removes the
common excuse of not having heard of Yemm &
Hart before, so a low price alternative is
quoted instead.
- Be forewarned - The
General Contractor and/or Division 10 Contractor will do everything
possible to subvert your specification,
Having officially entered the restroom
partition business in the year 2000, Yemm &
Hart has witnessed firsthand numerous ways
that the contractors will subvert the
architectural specification and get away
with it. This page is written to make the
architect aware of this practice and take
appropriate measures to insure their
specification is followed. Perhaps the
leading cause of specification subversion is
that contractors typically are unable to
conceive of restroom partitions being
special. Thus, they often bid on a project
without reading the details in the drawings
or specifications and use a low cost
partition number for their bid. Warning the
contractors up front that there is a special
type of restroom partition in the project
might alleviate this practice.
- Please notify Yemm &
Hart when
specified for a project.
The best course of action to have Yemm &
Hart restroom partitions in the project, is
to obtain a price quote to ascertain whether
your client's budget can accommodate the
higher price. Requesting a price quote is
the one way to notify Yemm & Hart and
another is simply to email a note to
yemmhart@hughes.net.
- Sales terms require
a deposit and progress payments before manufacture and release of
the partitions.
As with practically any custom made product,
a cash deposit is required to initiate an
order, with progress payments required as
the manufacturing of the custom progresses.
It is good practice to make sure that your
client is aware of this and if possible,
that the general contractor is informed.
This sharing of financial requirements
eliminates unnecessary surprises that often
can lead to a delay in production of the
partitions.
- Yemm & Hart converts
Origins panels into restroom partitions by using leading fabrication
companies.
Originally, Yemm & Hart fabricated restroom
partitions from their Origins panels for a
few projects. When it became clear that more
throughput was needed, Yemm & Hart partnered
with a larger manufacturer, Capitol
Partitions. Yemm & Hart made the Origins
panels and sent them out to be cut and
shaped and have the appropriate hardware
added. This fabricator was purchase by
Scranton Products
and the fabrication relationship has
successfully continued. This is why Yemm &
Hart is able to produce almost flawless
restroom partitions. Yemm & Hart's partition
style and hardware offerings are identical
to those of the fabricator with few
exceptions.
This information is conveyed with the
intention of increasing efficiency through
